EY Interview Questions

About EY

EY is one of the largest professional services networks in the world. Along with Deloitte, KPMG, and PricewaterhouseCoopers, it is considered one of the Big Four accounting firms.

It primarily provides assurance (which includes financial audit), tax, consulting, and advisory services to its clients. Like many of the larger accounting firms in recent years, EY has expanded into markets adjacent to accounting, including strategy, operations, HR, technology, and financial services consulting.

EY operates as a network of member firms that are structured as separate legal entities in a partnership, which has 312,250 employees in over 700 offices in more than 150 countries around the world.

The firm's current partnership was formed in 1989 by a merger of two accounting firms; Ernst & Whinney and Arthur Young & Co.

EY Interview Process

Interview Process

Application

You can start your application process in EY through their official website. Search for jobs through keywords or locations and find detailed descriptions about each of them. Click on the apply now button and complete your application. They will review the application and will revert back if the application meets their requirements.

Interview

The interview is rather a 2-way role so you’d be encouraged to ask out about the work culture, the scope of your role, and any other questions you might have about the company. The interview could take part in person, via phone, video, or all three modes too. You will be expected to talk about your own experience, work portfolio, ambitions, and personal opinions.

Assessment

They may also ask you to complete a written assessment, either online or at a testing center. The exact structure and content will depend on the country, service line, and role to which you apply, as different roles need different skills. They will keep in touch during the whole process and will let you know your next steps

Review offer and prepare to join

Joining a new organization can be a stressful experience, which is why EY offers a global onboarding technology portal to make your job transition as smooth as possible. You can also start networking with your peers and colleagues through the portal.

Interview Rounds

The number of interview rounds and their time window will heavily depend on your job role and department, but the generic process is basically the same:

Video Interview

Basically, this is the pre-screening step. The interview allows you to present your skills and achievements in a more interactive manner than in your resume.

Final interview

Your manager(or partner) will conduct the final one-to-one interview. Your skills, attitude, personality, and future goals will be closely examined here to determine if you are the perfect fit for the job.
