Bank of America's India hiring is a three-stage process for most roles: a virtual assessment, a technical or functional interview and an HR interview. Senior roles add a managerial round.
1. Application and registration
Apply on the Bank of America careers site, through your campus placement cell or via a portal such as Jobaaj. For campus drives you register your details and upload your resume; the assessment link usually arrives within a few days.
2. Virtual assessment on HireVue
An elimination round of about 90 minutes conducted on the HireVue platform with AI-based proctoring. For technology roles it combines a recorded self-introduction, two coding questions (one easy, one medium), an explanation question about your approach and a professional fitment question. Operations and analytics roles get aptitude, reasoning and recorded behavioural questions instead of coding.
3. Technical or functional interview
A 45 to 60 minute video interview with a senior engineer or functional lead. Technology candidates are tested on data structures, SQL and their projects in the first technical round, and on software fundamentals such as OOP, operating systems, DBMS and networking in a second. Operations, risk and finance candidates discuss domain concepts, Excel or SQL skills and process scenarios.
4. Managerial interview
For experienced hires and some campus roles, the hiring manager conducts a 30 to 45 minute interview on how you work: Agile practices, handling production incidents, working with US-based teams and delivering under deadlines.
5. HR interview
A 20 to 30 minute conversation covering your background, behavioural questions, salary expectations, shift flexibility and fit with the bank's values. It is rarely an elimination round for campus hires but it decides grade and compensation for laterals.
6. Offer and background verification
Offers typically follow within one to two weeks. Background checks cover education, employment and criminal records and must be cleared before the joining date. New joiners complete compliance and information security training in the first weeks.
