Bajaj Allianz General Insurance hires through its careers page, job portals such as Jobaaj, consultants, employee referrals, walk-in drives for sales roles and campus placements at select colleges.
1. Application and resume screening
HR shortlists resumes against the role's eligibility. Sales roles usually need a graduate degree and, for many positions, a two-wheeler and willingness to travel; claims and underwriting roles list specific qualifications such as engineering, medicine or prior insurance experience.
2. Telephonic or video screening
A recruiter calls to check your background, communication, location preference, notice period and salary expectations. For field sales, comfort with targets and travel is discussed here.
3. Online assessment
Some roles, especially for freshers and operations, include an online aptitude test of numerical ability, reasoning and English, and occasionally a basic insurance awareness section. Technology roles get a technical test.
4. Functional interview
A branch manager, claims head or underwriting lead interviews you on domain knowledge and situations from the job, such as assessing a motor claim, explaining a health policy's exclusions or planning agent recruitment for a territory.
5. Senior management interview
A regional or zonal head meets shortlisted candidates to check fit, ambition and stability. This is often the deciding round for sales and managerial positions.
6. HR discussion and offer
HR finalises compensation, incentive structure, location and joining date, completes background verification and issues the offer. New joiners go through product and compliance training, and sales staff complete IRDAI-mandated certification where applicable.
