About Infosys BPM

Infosys BPM is the business process management arm of Infosys, headquartered in Bengaluru with large delivery centres in Pune, Jaipur, Chennai, Mangaluru, Mysuru and Hyderabad, and further sites across the Philippines, Poland, Mexico and the United States. It runs finance and accounting, procurement, customer service, human resources, supply chain and industry-specific operations for global clients, increasingly layered with automation and generative AI tools.

The company employs well over 50,000 people and is one of the largest fresher recruiters among Indian BPM firms. Graduates in commerce, arts, science and engineering join as Process Executives or Process Specialists in areas such as accounts payable, order management, collections, customer support and HR operations. Experienced professionals are hired for team lead, quality, transitions, transformation and domain-specialist roles.

Infosys BPM looks for clear written and spoken English, comfort with numbers and spreadsheets, attention to detail and a service mindset. Willingness to work in rotational or night shifts for international clients is asked about early, so be honest about it during the process.

Infosys BPM hiring process

Infosys BPM runs a fast, largely virtual hiring process for fresher and early-career roles. Most candidates move from application to offer within two to four weeks.

1. Application or walk-in registration

You apply through the Infosys careers portal, a campus drive, a job portal such as Jobaaj or a scheduled walk-in drive in a delivery city. Eligibility usually asks for a completed graduation, reasonable academic consistency and no active backlogs, with some roles open to 12th-pass candidates with experience.

2. Online assessment

Shortlisted candidates take a timed online test covering verbal ability, logical reasoning and basic numerical aptitude. Finance and accounting roles add a short accounting fundamentals section. The test is usually webcam-proctored and taken from home.

3. Communication assessment

Because most roles involve client or customer interaction, there is an English communication test, often a spoken assessment on an automated platform that scores pronunciation, fluency and comprehension. Voice-process roles set a higher bar here.

4. Operations interview

A team lead or operations manager interviews you for 15 to 30 minutes on your background, understanding of the process area, shift flexibility and situational questions about handling customers or errors.

5. HR discussion

HR confirms eligibility documents, discusses salary, shift allowance, location and joining date, and checks your commitment to the role.

6. Offer and onboarding

Selected candidates receive an offer letter, complete background verification and join a process-specific training batch before going live on the client account.

What to expect

Infosys BPM interview rounds

The rounds below describe fresher and early-career hiring. Team lead and specialist roles add a domain round with the client-facing manager.

Round 1: Online aptitude test

Around 45 to 60 minutes, with sections on verbal ability, logical reasoning and quantitative aptitude. Sectional cut-offs apply, so do not spend all your time on one section.

  • Reading comprehension, sentence correction and synonyms
  • Series, coding-decoding and seating arrangement puzzles
  • Percentages, ratios, averages and simple data interpretation
  • Basic accounting entries for finance roles

Round 2: Communication and typing assessment

An automated spoken-English test of 15 to 20 minutes, sometimes paired with a typing test for back-office roles. You read sentences, repeat phrases and answer short open questions.

  • Clear pronunciation and natural pace
  • Listening comprehension of accented English
  • Typing speed of roughly 30 words per minute with accuracy

Round 3: Operations or process interview

A 20 to 30 minute conversation with a team lead or operations manager, in person or on video. The interviewer checks whether you understand the work and can stay calm under pressure.

  • Tell me about yourself and why a BPM career
  • What is accounts payable or order-to-cash, in your own words
  • How would you handle an angry customer or a process error you made
  • Are you comfortable with rotational and night shifts

Round 4: HR round

A short discussion of 10 to 15 minutes on documents, salary structure, relocation and notice period for experienced candidates.

  • Expected CTC and shift allowances
  • Willingness to relocate to Pune, Jaipur or Chennai
  • Career plans over the next two to three years

Infosys BPM interview FAQs

Q1How many rounds are there in the Infosys BPM interview process?

Typically four: an online aptitude test, a communication or typing assessment, an operations interview with a team lead or manager, and an HR discussion. Walk-in drives often compress the interviews into a single day, while campus hiring spreads them across a week or two.

Q2How difficult is the Infosys BPM online test?

Moderate. The questions are at the level of standard placement aptitude papers, and the challenge is speed with sectional cut-offs rather than depth. Practising verbal ability and basic quantitative questions for a week is usually enough for graduates from any stream.

Q3Why do you want to join Infosys BPM?

Connect the answer to the company's scale and training culture: a structured induction, exposure to global clients, clear promotion paths from Process Executive to Team Lead, and the chance to build domain skills in finance, procurement or customer operations. Mention one specific thing you learned about the company.

Q4Are you comfortable working in night shifts?

Answer honestly, because many international accounts run on US or UK hours. If you are open to it, say so clearly and mention how you would manage health and commute. If you prefer day shifts, say you are flexible for training and would like a day-shift process where possible.

Q5How would you handle an irate customer on a call?

Describe a calm, structured approach: listen without interrupting, acknowledge the problem, apologise for the inconvenience, check the account or process details, offer a clear resolution or escalation path, and confirm the customer is satisfied before ending the call. Interviewers want empathy plus process discipline.

Q6What is the salary and eligibility for freshers at Infosys BPM?

Fresher Process Executive roles typically pay in the low single-digit lakhs per year, with shift allowances and performance incentives on top for voice and night-shift processes. Any graduate can apply, and finance roles prefer B.Com, BBA or M.Com candidates. A few processes also hire experienced 12th-pass candidates.
