Siemens uses a global applicant system with local hiring teams, so the process is consistent but can take four to eight weeks for lateral roles because of multiple stakeholders.
1. Online application
Apply on the Siemens careers portal, through campus placement, an employee referral or a job portal such as Jobaaj. Applications are screened by a recruiter against the job's technical requirements and experience level.
2. Online assessment or screening call
Campus and GET candidates take an online aptitude and technical test. Lateral candidates get a 15 to 20 minute recruiter call on background, expectations and notice period, sometimes followed by a short online technical or coding assessment for software roles.
3. Technical interview
One or two rounds with engineers or the team lead on your core discipline, projects and role-specific tools such as PLC programming, electrical design, embedded software or cloud platforms.
4. Hiring manager interview
The manager discusses how you would fit the team, work with global colleagues, handle project pressure and grow in the role. For senior roles a business unit head may join.
5. HR interview
HR covers compensation, benefits, location, relocation support and joining timelines, and answers questions on Siemens' policies.
6. Offer and onboarding
Offers are released after internal approvals and background verification, followed by a structured onboarding that includes compliance and safety training.
