Tech Mahindra runs a standard multi-stage fresher process and a lighter, role-specific one for laterals. Campus drives close within weeks; lateral hiring typically takes two to four weeks.
1. Registration or application
Freshers register through campus placement cells or Tech Mahindra's off-campus and pooled drives; laterals apply on the careers portal, via referrals or a job portal such as Jobaaj. Fresher eligibility usually requires a minimum aggregate across 10th, 12th and graduation and no active backlogs at the time of joining.
2. Online aptitude and coding assessment
A proctored online test with English, quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning and a coding section of one or two problems. Some drives include a short writing task and a psychometric section.
3. Communication assessment
An automated spoken-English evaluation that checks fluency, pronunciation and comprehension, treated as a filter because most roles involve client interaction.
4. Technical interview
A 30 to 45 minute interview with a project lead on programming fundamentals, a coding exercise, your projects and role-specific topics. Laterals typically have two technical rounds, one of them with the client-facing manager.
5. HR interview
HR discusses your goals, flexibility on location and shifts, compensation and the service agreement attached to fresher offers.
6. Offer and onboarding
Selected candidates receive an offer letter, complete document and background verification, and join a technology training programme before project allocation.
