About Livspace

Livspace is one of Asia's largest home interiors and renovation platforms, headquartered in Bengaluru with a regional headquarters in Singapore. It combines an online design platform, a network of experience centres in major Indian cities, in-house and partner designers, and a managed supply chain of modular furniture, materials and installation services. The company operates across India, Singapore and the Middle East and has delivered homes for well over a lakh customers.

Livspace hires interior designers, design managers and business managers for its experience centres, project and site managers who oversee execution, sales and customer success teams, supply chain and category roles, and software engineers, product managers and data teams for its technology platform. Freshers with design degrees typically join through designer trainee programmes; engineering and MBA graduates come through campus placements and off-campus drives.

The company looks for people who are customer obsessed, practical about budgets and timelines, and comfortable working across design, sales and execution. Designers are assessed on both creativity and the ability to sell and deliver a project profitably; technology hires are assessed on building tools that make a complex, physical process run smoothly.

Livspace hiring process

Livspace's process differs by function but usually completes within two to three weeks. Design and sales hiring is often run at the experience centre; technology hiring is virtual.

1. Application and screening

Apply through the Livspace careers page, a referral, a campus drive or a portal such as Jobaaj. Designers are screened on portfolio and software skills such as SketchUp, AutoCAD or 3D rendering tools; other roles on relevant experience and academic background.

2. Telephonic or video screening

A recruiter or team lead discusses your background, expectations, location preference and, for customer-facing roles, communication style.

3. Functional round

Designers present their portfolio and complete a design task or mock client briefing. Sales and business managers work through a sales role play or a case on converting leads and managing customer budgets. Engineers take a coding assessment and technical interview.

4. Manager interview

The centre head, project head or engineering manager assesses ownership, handling of difficult customers, coordination with vendors and fit with a target-driven environment.

5. HR discussion and offer

HR explains the compensation structure, which includes incentives for design and sales roles, confirms location and joining date, and releases the offer.

What to expect

Livspace interview rounds

Most candidates go through three or four rounds. Design and sales rounds are practical and customer-focused; technology rounds follow a standard product-company pattern.

Round 1: Screening call

A 20 to 30 minute conversation on your profile, motivation and logistics, including willingness to work weekends for customer-facing roles.

  • Walk through your portfolio or resume
  • Why interiors and why Livspace
  • Location and shift flexibility

Round 2: Portfolio and design task for designers

You present two or three projects and then respond to a mock brief, for example a two-bedroom flat with a fixed budget, sketching a layout and explaining material choices.

  • Space planning and modular kitchen or wardrobe design
  • Costing within a customer's budget
  • Handling a client who changes requirements late

Round 3: Sales or business case for sales and business roles

A role play or case on converting a walk-in customer, explaining a quotation, upselling responsibly and managing objections about price or timelines.

  • Pitching a package to a first-time home buyer
  • Negotiating scope when the budget is tight
  • Tracking conversion and pipeline metrics

Round 4: Technical rounds for engineers

A coding assessment followed by one or two interviews on data structures, system design and building tools for order, project and vendor management.

  • Arrays, hashing and simple graph problems
  • Designing a project tracking or quotation system
  • APIs, databases and handling concurrent updates

Round 5: Manager and HR round

A behavioural interview on ownership, teamwork with site teams and vendors, and handling customer escalations, followed by a compensation discussion.

  • A time you delivered a project despite delays
  • Coordinating with carpenters, vendors and customers
  • Salary expectations and incentive structure

Livspace interview FAQs

Q1How many rounds are there in the Livspace interview process?

Usually three or four: a screening call, a functional round such as a portfolio and design task, a sales role play or a coding interview, a manager interview and an HR discussion. Designer trainee programmes and campus drives sometimes combine the functional and manager rounds into one assessment day.

Q2How long does Livspace take to make an offer?

Two to three weeks is typical, and experience-centre hiring for designers and sales roles can be quicker when a centre has an open requirement. Technology roles take a little longer because of scheduling across engineering managers, but the recruiter usually gives clear timelines after each round.

Q3What is the design task in the Livspace interview?

You are given a brief such as a two or three-bedroom apartment with a fixed budget and asked to propose a layout, modular kitchen or wardrobe design and material choices, then justify them. Interviewers look for practical space planning, cost awareness and how well you explain ideas to a non-designer customer.

Q4How should I answer "How would you handle a customer unhappy with a delay"?

Show that you would acknowledge the issue, give a clear and honest revised timeline, explain what is being done with the site team and vendors, and keep the customer updated proactively. Livspace values ownership of execution problems, so avoid answers that push responsibility onto partners.

Q5What technical questions are asked for Livspace engineering roles?

Expect standard data structure and algorithm problems, questions on REST APIs, relational databases and caching, and a design discussion around tools such as quotation engines, project trackers or vendor management systems. Interviewers appreciate candidates who think about the physical workflow behind the software.

Q6What is the salary structure for designers and sales roles at Livspace?

Designer and sales compensation typically has a fixed component in the low to mid single-digit lakhs per annum for freshers and trainees, plus performance incentives linked to projects converted and delivered, which can add significantly for high performers. Engineering and product roles are benchmarked against Bengaluru product start-ups.
