Salesforce runs a structured process that is broadly the same for campus and lateral hiring, with the content of each round tailored to the job family. Most candidates finish in three to five weeks.
1. Application or campus registration
Lateral candidates apply on the Salesforce careers site or through referrals. Campus candidates register through their placement cell for the Futureforce drive, where eligibility usually includes a minimum CGPA and relevant degree.
2. Online assessment
Engineering candidates take an online coding assessment on a platform such as HackerRank with two to three problems and objective questions on programming fundamentals. Business development and solution engineering candidates may instead get a video interview where they record answers to situational questions.
3. Recruiter conversation
A 30 minute call on your background, interest in Salesforce, location and compensation expectations. The recruiter also explains the loop and the team you are being considered for.
4. Technical or functional interviews
Two rounds of 45 to 60 minutes each. Engineers solve coding and design problems with team members; solution engineers deliver a short product demo or discovery role-play; sales candidates pitch and handle objections; customer success candidates work through a customer escalation case.
5. Hiring manager and values interview
A behavioural interview with the hiring manager and often a cross-functional partner. Questions map to Salesforce's values and to how you collaborate, take ownership and handle setbacks.
6. Decision and offer
Interviewers submit structured feedback and the hiring committee decides within about a week. Offers include base salary, a bonus or commission plan depending on the role, and stock units, plus generous volunteering and wellbeing benefits.
