Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), is an Indian central public sector undertaking and a Maharatna company owned by Ministry of Power, Government of India. It is engaged mainly in transmission of bulk power across different States of India.
POWERGRID publishes its selection process in its official recruitment advertisements. For Executive Trainee / Officer Trainee recruitment it comprises a Computer Based Test, followed by Document Verification, Group Discussion, Behavioural Assessment and Personal Interview.
Computer Based Test (CBT)
Duration: 2 hours, objective type, four answer choices per question.
Two sections: Professional Knowledge Test (PKT) – 120 questions on discipline-specific subjects at the essential-qualification level; and Executive Aptitude Test (EAT) – 50 questions on vocabulary, verbal comprehension, quantitative aptitude, reasoning ability, data sufficiency and interpretation, numerical ability and general awareness.
Marking: All questions carry 1 mark, with 1/4 negative marking for a wrong or multiple answer.
Qualifying marks: a minimum of 30% in aggregate, subject to at least 25% in EAT and PKT separately.
Shortlisting – Qualified candidates are shortlisted for Document Verification, Group Discussion and Interview on the basis of their CBT marks, in a prescribed ratio.
